One of the largest fundraisers of the year is the annual Saint George Carnival. Every August, the rear parking lot of St. George Church fills up with carnival rides, games, and food. The Carnival attracts not only parishioners of Saint George Church, but visitors from all over the state of CT and beyond. Members of Council 3928, their families, and parishioners of Saint George Church pool their efforts and talents in order to put on the Carnival each summer.
The Knights run the carnival's food booth each year. In the weekends leading up to the carnival, Brother Knights gather together to assemble the structure and install fixtures and equipment. When carnival time arrives, everyone works together to ensure every visitor has a great meal. There are plenty of jobs to do, including stocking the coolers with soda and water, taking orders, preparing the food, replenishing supplies, and delivering the orders at the pick-up window. The food is prepared to order so it can be delivered hot and fresh.
In addition to food, other areas of entertainment include the White Elephant, which is a monstrous tag sale, and the Cake Booth where patrons can take a chance at winning some tasty treats provided by members of the parish.
